To the editor:

I served as a Lincoln County commissioner for over 10 years and am endorsing Cathie Rigby for county commissioner.

She is clearly the best-qualified candidate. At a time when our county is in critical need of leadership, Cathie’s experience with the city of Newport will bring essential knowledge of governing to the role of a commissioner. She has demonstrated a positive consensus-building approach which is, again, critically needed. She understands budgeting and the management of public funds.

Cathie brings a broad base of experience, serving on the Fair Board, service on the Leadership Lincoln Advisory Board and on the regional Oregon Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, among others. This depth of knowledge and diverse experience positions her to critically analyze county issues and effectively make decisions that are in the best interests of our communities.

Please join me in voting for Cathie Rigby. She has a proven record of leadership, and as a consensus builder working collaboratively to improve Lincoln County.
