The AARP Foundation’s vital Tax-Aide Program is looking for volunteers.
Although tax filing season is months away, many volunteers are needed in Waldport, Newport and Lincoln City to help Lincoln County residents with low to moderate incomes complete their taxes, often obtaining much-needed refunds.
Local residents can get their taxes done for free beginning in early February and continuing through mid-April.
Volunteers are trained, and classes are generally held from December through January for the upcoming tax filing season. The amount of training required depends on the position. AARP membership is not required.
