Two projects in Lincoln County are among the 54 statewide receiving federal funds through the first two rounds of 2026 congressional appropriations, Oregon Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden announced Friday.
The projects’ combined total is $102.7 million that come via requests by local governments across the state to the two senators and House representatives.
Both Lincoln County projects have been in request packages in some form or another the past three years but have not made it through the appropriations process.
Oregon Coast Community College will receive $1 million to help purchase equipment for its new workforce training facility that has already cleared the site for the center on its Newport campus.
The Siletz Valley Fire District will receive $1.01 million to modify its existing fire station to house an emergency operations center and provide emergency housing during natural disasters.
In a news release announcing the awards, Merkley and Wyden said feedback they receive at their town halls “is directly reflected in the projects that were chosen for federal funding in the first two packages of this year’s spending bills to help meet critical needs in Oregon communities.”

Thank you Senators Wyden and Merkley.
