To the editor:
I’ve always voted Democratic. Claire Hall had my vote whenever she was on my ballot. This November, I’m backing Casey Miller for another term on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.
I was one of Casey’s opponents in the May primary. Running against someone doesn’t mean you can’t recognize his strengths.
Here on the coast, we appreciate neighbors who listen and show up. I want that same spirit in county government. Casey is approachable and honest, and he’s shown that he cares about this place and the people who call it home.
My time as a union representative for SEIU Local 503 in Lincoln County taught me how important it is to hear employees out. Their experience deserves respect. That’s why Casey’s endorsement from the Lincoln County Employees Association, AFSCME Local 541, carries weight with me.
Being accountable means answering questions, explaining choices, and taking responsibility. Casey also brings the experience we need as the county handles public safety, housing, essential services, and our tax dollars.
We don’t see eye to eye on everything. But I trust his honesty, respect his experience, and believe he’ll listen to both residents and employees.
Our community deserves a commissioner we can reach, who knows the work and cares about getting it right. That’s why Casey has my vote.
