Two more projects in Lincoln County have received funding from Congress, Rep. Val Hoyle, D-Ore. has announced from $16.6 million directed to 15 projects in the 4th Congressional district.
For the 2026 fiscal year, each member of Congress could request federal funding for up to 15 community projects. Hoyle worked with the offices of Oregon Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden on several of the projects, including funding for two announced in January.
“This federal funding will allow communities to make long-overdue investments in fire and police services, water infrastructure, workforce training and affordable housing,” Hoyle said in a statement announcing the awards.
In Lincoln County, Congress will allocate $1.015 million to Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue District in Waldport to repair and remodel its main station in downtown Waldport.
“This is great news,” said COCF&R Chief Jamie Mason. “It’s nice knowing this is coming and we can fix this station.”
The allocation has been in the works for years, but was stalled in Congress in 2025. Rep. David Gomberg, D-Otis, is also working in the 2026 Legislature to get $1 million in Lottery funds allocated to the district so it can buy the station from the city of Waldport.
The new congressional allocation also sends $2 million to Lincoln City to support the development of 84 affordable housing units.
As previously announced by Wyden and Merkley, Oregon Coast Community College is getting $1 million to help equip its new trades education center and the Siletz Valley Fire District is receiving $1.015 million to help build a new fire station, which would house their fire apparatus and turn the existing fire station into an emergency shelter.
