The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund distributed $198,441 to 36 organizations in its 11 county service area this month as part of its quarterly donations to nonprofit groups.
In Lincoln County, grants went to:
- Siletz, Eddyville, Toledo Baseball & Softball Association to help fund the 2025 baseball/softball year; $5,203;
- Panther Creek Senior and Community Center, Otis, to replace flooring in parts of its senior center; $20,000;
- Altrusa of Yaquina Bay to purchase children’s books; $2,500;
- Elakha Alliance of Siletz to help raise awareness of the importance of sea otters by providing presentations, collaboration with regional organizations on outreach and events; $5,000;
- Rotary Club of Newport to construct water fountain and water bottle container refilling stations; $10,510;
- Seashore Family Literacy of Waldport to purchase AED devices for locations in Waldport where its musicians perform; $5,000;
- 2025 Toledo Jr/Sr Grad Night to help with the senior class graduation night celebration; $1,000;
- Siletz Valley Grange to replace some counters, interior shelving, and install new countertops and floors; $2,187;
- Waldport Library Foundation to help with a tea party to raise funds for a new library; $1,000;
- Oregon Boating Foundation to purchase two marina grade AED devices in Newport; $1,421;
- Lincoln County Legends of Siletz to implement a player physical and mental health program; $2,500;
- Seal Rock Fire District to send volunteer and firefighters to EMT training; $7,542;
- Siletz Valley Fire District to help purchase security equipment for Logsden Station; $3,250;
- Coastal Voices of Newport to expand from eight to 12 concerts; $4,000; and
- Oregon Coast Aquarium for a temporary “Washed Ashore” exhibit; $10,000.
The seven-member charitable fund advisory board has distributed more than $18.2 million since its inception in 2001.
The next deadline to submit applications is March 3. Eligibility is limited to entities and activities located in the Siletz Tribe’s 11-county service area and Native American entities and activities located anywhere in the United States.
