Favorite Americana tunes will highlight a series of four concerts in May by Coastal Voices, the 53-voice community chorus of the central Oregon coast.
“Americana Adventure: Best Foot Forward” is the theme of the four events, which begin Saturday, May 3, at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
On Sunday, May 4, the tour continues at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church. The third venue is Chapel By The Sea in Lincoln City on Saturday, May 10, with a final performance Sunday, May 11, at the Depoe Bay Community Hall.
All performances begin at 4 p.m., with tickets available in advance at the group’s website or at the door.
During each concert, Coastal Voices will offer familiar American songs like “Home On The Range,” “Over the Rainbow” and “Bridge Over Troubled Waters.” Following intermissions, the audience will be invited to sing along with folk songs.
Seniors age 55 and over enjoy reduced ticket prices, thanks to the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund and the Randall Charitable Trust. General admission at the Newport concert is $25; $20 for seniors. At all other venues, general admission is $20; $15 for seniors. Those age 17 and under are admitted free to all concerts.
Before each concert and at intermissions, tickets for a raffle of song-themed gift baskets will be available.
Coastal Voices performs under the directorship of Rhodd Caldwell.
More information about the concerts is available at the organization’s website, via email to cvinfo@coastal-voices.org, or by calling 541-283-6295.
