YACHATS — Want to amble around Yachats’ unique shops while sampling wines and other adult beverages, have a snack and then be shuttled back to your car? It’s happening Saturday, April 19, at Yachats’ third annual “Sip ‘n Stroll”.
From noon to 5 p.m., 16 local shops and restaurants will host tastings — and purchases — of wines, beer, hard cider and more for an expected crowd of over 325 people. There are also two stops for water and restrooms.
The sipping and strolling begin at the Yachats Commons, where attendees can register and pay the event fee. Each $30 admission includes five wine sample tickets, a commemorative wine glass and an event map and booklet detailing all the sipping stops and beverages.
At each participating location, browsers and buyers can collect stamps on their maps and return the completed forms to the Pavilion. There, a drawing will be held for a free weekend getaway in Yachats.

A shuttle bus will run a continuous loop throughout the event, with stops from the Commons on the south end to Green House Marketplace on the north.
“Sip ‘n Stroll has quickly become one of Yachats’ favorite spring traditions,” said Nichole Lippincott, executive director of the sponsoring Yachats Chamber of Commerce. “We had 325 people last year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to sip, stroll and discover what makes Yachats so special.”
A popular courier service begun last year is offered again on Saturday. Attendees can load up on purchases and tag them with their registration numbers. Event couriers will then pick up the goods and store them securely at the Commons, for pickup when the owners are ready to leave.
The sites scheduled to participate are: Earthworks Gallery, Touchstone Gallery, Beach Daisy Wine, Adobe Resort, Yachats Community Presbyterian Church (offering popcorn, water and restrooms), Sweet Homes Vacation Rentals, Bayside Cellars, Peephole Gallery, Wildcraft Cider, Billow Cloud Soap/Le Stelle Gallery, Sea Note Restaurant, Yachats Visitor Center (offering water and restroom), Styx, Stones ‘n Bones/Big Dog BBQ, Coastal Balance Chiropractic & Massage, the Drift Inn and Ona Restaurant.
