A photo from the archives of the Lincoln County Historical Society shows workers at Anderson Boat Works in Newport in 1910. The historical society has launched a new exhibit at its Pacific Maritime Heritage Center overlooking the Newport Bayfront on the local history of boat building.
The displays have tools, scale models and photographs on how boat building helped shape Lincoln County’s development. There are also two documentary films on boat builders George Calkins and Ralph Criteser available in the Doerfler Family Theater.
Go to the historical society’s website here for more details and museum hours.
