Organizers of a Yachats-area blood drive on Friday, July 26 are urgently seeking people to donate.
The blood drive is being organized by Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, 360 W. Seventh St., and the Salem office of the American Red Cross.
People are being asked to schedule a time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday to donate blood. They can make an appointment by calling Sue Finlayson at 541-547-4532.
Marisa Wycoff, a donation organizer with the American Red Cross in Salem, said there is an urgent appeal for all blood types as inventory levels are at less than a one-day supply in parts of Oregon.
Wycott said appointments help the Red Cross forecast inventory levels of blood but that but walk-ins could be accommodated.
