A Waldport man faces two counts of first-degree sex abuse for allegedly fondling the breasts of a 14-year-old girl June 1, 2022.
Jeremy T. Mabe, 49, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Lincoln County Jail where he is being held on a $250,000 bond. A plea of not guilty was filed on his behalf by circuit judge Joseph Allison, who scheduled a preliminary hearing eduled for Aug. 16.
Allison also signed an order sealing most documents related to the case in order to protect the victim from “public dissemination of sexually explicit information.”
Mabe is a longtime Yachats public works employee. Yachats interim city manager Rick Sant said Thursday the city was aware of Mabe’s arrest but could not comment further.
