TOLEDO – The city of Toledo’s recruitment adviser is holding a meeting Tuesday, July 29 so the public can meet and talk to four finalists for city manager.
The meeting organized by Jensen Strategies is 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the training room of the Toledo Fire Department, 285 N.E. Burgess Road.
The four finalists are:
- John Craig most recently served as deputy manager for the county of Los Alamos, N.M. He previously served as general services director for the city of Albuquerque, and in various county or city positions in Mono County, Calif., Rio Rancho, N.M., Talbot County, Md. and Barre, Vt.
- Richard Huebner most recently served as the city administrator for Selah, Wash., and previously served as assistant city manager for Moses Lake, Wash., and held positions for the city of Monroe, Wash. and the Snohomish County department of conservation and natural resources.
- Phillip Lewis currently serves as general manager for Cosumnes Community Services District in Elk Cove, Calif. and previously was the district’s parks and recreation administrator. He has also held positions in Rocklin, Calif., Oregon City and the Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District in The Dalles.
- Benjamin Marchant most recently served as the city manager of Fernley, Nevada and held similar titles in Coventry Rhode Island and Springettsbury Township in York, PA., and city manager positions in Coquille and Jerome, Idaho.
Toledo has been looking for a new city manager since last September when the council put Doug Wiggins on leave and then voted 4-3 in February not to reinstate him to the position.
