To the editor:
When Lincoln County Commissioner Casey Miller bucked the system to file an ethics complaint against the other commissioners for their unethical scheme of secret email/back-room voting, he was heavily bullied and punished by county actors from both parties — after all, he held all parties accountable.
The Oregon Government Ethics Commission found his complaint had merit – he was right. Importantly, his ethics complaint vindicated the rights of every resident in this county to know how and when their elected officials were voting on important matters.
When county bullies unlawfully locked him out of the commissioners’ office, he had the courage to file suit in federal court and won again! This lawsuit also vindicated and protected the rights of every voter in this county to have their votes count and their elected officer treated lawfully.
Without his county knowledge and experience unmatched by any other candidate, and without his courage, our county would likely still be operating in secrecy and unlawfully. Let’s not go back.
One would think that Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters would all be supporting Casey Miller’s re-election. Instead, many are ignoring his incredible record and falling back on tired, self-sabotaging, polarizing campaigns to unseat him. Don’t let the bullies win — support Casey Miller for Lincoln County commissioner.

The fact is I had a hard time trying to figure out where Casey is coming from. He’s hidden it well. And for that, I don’t trust him. I’ve had enough false equivalence from one side of the political spectrum.
Read this letter to the Chronicle that describes his broad support amongst Republicans: https://lincolnchronicle.org/lincoln-county-democrats-explain-endorsements-in-non-partisan-commission-races/
You have zero reason to not trust Miller. Don’t use national politics not to vote for the only person running for this seat that is actually nonpartisan. His opponent has already shown us who she is and it is definitely not nonpartisan plus Cathie Rigby has lived in Lincoln County only for two years and Oregon for two years. We definitely do not need to be represented by people that don’t know the area.
Re-elect Miller because he fights bullies. Sounds like irony to me.
