
Sharon A. Mindrup, Yachats

Sharon A. Mindrup, who owned and ran Sharon’s Discount Vacuums in Bend for years before moving to Yachats in 2013, died Feb. 13, 2025, of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 76.
Sharon Ann Modesitt was born July 27, 1948, in Grand Island, Neb. to Robert and Joyce Modesitt. She moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Girl’s Polytechnic High School there.
She moved to Bend in 1980 to own and operate Sharon’s Vacuums store.
She married Dale Mindrup on May 21, 1994, in Bend, the same year they bought a second home in Yachats. The Mindrups moved to Yachats in 2013 after Sharon sold her business, where she enjoyed camping, fishing and travel with her husband.
In addition to her husband, Sharon Mindrup is survived by a sister, Susan Byrd of Florida; a brother, Robert Modesitt of Portland; two children, William Wild of Redmond and Laura Rosiello of Bend; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her family will hold a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church and a gathering after that at Luna Sea in Seal Rock.
