YACHATS — The city of Yachats is opening its 2025-26 community development grant program Sept. 20 to help fund nonprofit operations or projects.
The grants are intended to support projects that contribute to local community development within Yachats. Special consideration will be given to projects demonstrating measurable economic development outcomes, according to guidelines released by the city.
Given the limited funds, applicants are encouraged to seek additional funding for larger projects. Consideration will also be given to projects facing unique fiscal challenges or those ineligible for traditional funding. While matching funds are encouraged, they are not a requirement to apply.
A total of $50,000 is available during the first, three-month cycle of the newly established program, with grants divided into two pools — projects enhancing visitor promotion, and general community projects and organizational support. The maximum grant request is $15,000.
A selection committee will evaluate and score applications and give its recommendations to the city council for a decision. The review committee may recommend more or less funding than requested, depending on the number of requests received.
The application process opens Sept. 20 and closes Oct. 20. Applications must be submitted through the city’s website, www.yachatsoregon.org
