To the editor:

I was Lincoln County’s district attorney from 2001 to 2009 and I am proud to endorse Jonathan Cable for district attorney in the May 19 primary election.

Jonathan Cable has the range and the depth of experience required to lead our prosecutors and manage our complex Lincoln County District Attorney’s office. Importantly he has integrity, coupled with good judgment. When I hired Jonathan Cable in 2006, he already had solid prosecutor experience. He was a diligent, thoughtful and ethical deputy. He had the ability to access and try cases well. He was calm in the face of the daily fires that come with prosecuting crimes. He was a valued team member who worked to make our office better.

Jonathan Cable is genuinely interested and cares about victims of crime. His cases have included the truly emotionally draining cases protecting children and protecting victims of domestic violence. His experience as a major crime team member is invaluable. Jonathan Cable is knowledgeable about the entire county system and knows how the district attorney’s office fits into it.

I trust Jonathan Cable to work for justice. I know police, staff and community members join me in supporting Jonathan Cable for Lincoln County District Attorney.
