TOLEDO — A 40-year-old Toledo man is being held in the Lincoln County jail on $250,000 bail after his arrest Sunday on accusations of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and encouraging child sexual abuse.
Toledo police said they were contacted by someone who tipped them that Elton D. Hostler had child sexual abuse material and were preparing a search warrant for his house on Southeast Second Street when he was arrested. Police said their investigation developed probable cause that Hostler was in possession of child sex abuse material from the internet but also had videos involving local children.
Information filed in Lincoln County circuit court indicated that on or about June 1, 2023, Hostler took videos of two children engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The third accusation, according to the court document, occurred on or about April 15 when Hostler accessed a sexually explicit internet recording involving a child.
Police said Tuesday that the local victims have been identified and parents notified.
“At this time there is no direct evidence relating to unidentified local child victims, although the investigation is ongoing,” police said in a news release. Police asked parents to contact officers at 541-336-555 if they have concerns about a child’s contacts with Hostler.
