The investigation of a crash of a small helicopter doing work for the Weyerhaeuser Co. near Logsden on Thursday has been turned over to the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Thursday evening that it received word of the crash about 8:37 a.m. Thursday after the Bell JetRanger helicopter went down in a cow pasture adjacent to Moonshine Park Road.

The helicopter pilot, who was not identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, the sheriff’s office said. The crash did not harm nearby structures or livestock.

A spokeswoman for Weyerhaeuser posted on social media that the company was working with local officials, the NTSB and FAA to gather more information but that the pilot suffered only minor injuries.
