***E-CRASH*** On 03/05/21 at approximately 3:20 PM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on US-101 around milepost 127. Southbound Vehicle #1 (black Crown Vic) attempted to turn left into the 76 station in Depoe Bay and drove over the center pedestrian median. < $2500 damage was done to Vehicle #1, but State of Oregon property damage occurred as a sign was knocked over. Vehicle was drivable.

Narrative Summary
The Mercury Mountaineer was being driven southbound on US-101. The driver was attempting a right turn into the Ona Beach State Park where the turn had been straightened out and some type of a box was struck and driven on top of. The driver was transported to the hospital in Newport as she was disoriented. During my contact with the driver she was impaired. The driver completed a valid breath test indicating a 0.22% BAC. The Lincoln County Jail did not allow her to be lodged and she was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving.

Narrative Summary
On 3/6/21 at approximately 3:10 pm I was dispatched to the report of thefts from multiple vehicles parked at the Wade Creek Moolack Beach access point on US 101 near mile post 135. Three vehicles had windows broken out and items were stolen from each vehicle, including wallets, driver’s licenses and employee access IDs. One victim had a brief interaction with the suspect and witnessed him leave the area in a “Robin’s-egg Blue” Ford Mustang with an unknown California license plate. The suspect was described as slender white male, approximately 6 ft tall, 40 to 45 years old, gray hair and possibly balding, clean shaven, with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey beany and a plaid shirt. He left the scene southbound. An ATL was issued but the suspect has not been located.

Narrative Summary
A white Hyundai Santa Fe was parked near milepost 125.3 on US-101 southbound, adjacent to Fogarty Creek State Park. The occupants got out between 1 pm to 3 pm and spent time on the beach. When they came back a door was ajar and a purse and a jacket had been stolen.

On 3/7/21 at approximately 9:55 pm I conducted a routine traffic stop with a white Dodge van (352FWH) near the intersection of NW 6th St and NW High St in Newport. The driver had no identification and admitted he was suspended. A check of the driver’s status showed he was suspended at a misdemeanor level and the vehicle was not insured. The driver was cited and released for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor.

On 3/7/21 at approximately 10:41 pm I conducted a routine traffic stop with a white Toyota Tundra (824KSV) on US 101 near mile post 142. Upon contacting the driver I observed he exhibited signs of impairment, admitted to recently drinking alcohol and told me he was returning to his hotel from the Sand Bar Tavern. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. He was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of 0.14% BAC. Passengers in the vehicle arranged for the vehicle to be towed by Rowley’s Towing.

ODOT employees returned to equipment left roadside over the weekend and found (2) vehicles with broken out windows. Nothing was taken from either piece of equipment. Photographs taken and case # provided.
