Narrative Summary
On 12/29/2021 at approximately 5:54PM on US 18 at milepost 5. Vehicle 1 (Silver Ford SUV) was traveling westbound when it crossed over the center lane colliding with Vehicle 2 (White Subaru SUV) who was traveling eastbound. Vehicle 1 then proceeded westbound colliding with Vehicle 3 (Silver Truck) who was also traveling eastbound. Vehicle 1 came to a rest crashing into the embankment on its side. The driver and passenger were safely removed from the vehicle by medics. The driver showed signs of impairment and was asked to consent to field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lincoln City Police Department and was asked to provide a breath sample. The driver blew a 0.16% BAC and was cited and released for DUII alcohol.

The Oregon State Police were contacted by Philomath Police Department in regards to a crime which occurred at the Ellmaker State Park. The suspect involved was already in custody for a crime which occurred the day prior in Lincoln City. The victim was awaiting contact at Ellmaker State Park. The Oregon State Police talked with the victim involved and suspect involved. The suspect was lodged on the previous day’s crimes and was also lodged in jail for the crimes of Attempted Kidnapping in the second degree and Harassment, which occurred at Ellmaker State Park.

E-Crash: A single vehicle crash occurred at US-101 and milepost 165.9. The driver had been having brake issues and had just pulled over to mess with wiring issues. He got back on the road and was coming around a curve when he noticed he had no brakes. He said he attempted to apply the emergency brake but it did not slow enough. The driver was alone and got out of the moving vehicle prior to the vehicle going over the edge off the west side of the highway. The vehicle came to a final rest about 30-40 feet down after crashing into trees/rock.
