Narrative Summary
**eCrash Report included** On 10/17/20 at approximately 06:58 AM, a two vehicle collision was reported on US Highway 101 near milepost 133. The collision occurred as Unit #2, a black 2016 Toyota Tacoma was southbound on US Highway 101 pulling a boat trailer with a 19’6” Bluewater fishing boat. Unit #1, a silver 1999 Nissan Quest was southbound behind Unit #2. Unit #2 began to turn east onto a logging road when Unit #1 struck the rear driver’s side of the boat trailer and boat. Unit #2 came to a controlled rest along the eastern side of US Highway 101. Unit #1 sustained heavy front end damage and airbags were deployed. Unit #1 was able to come to a controlled rest along the west side of the highway. All parties were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported. Rowley’s towing responded to the scene to remove Unit #1. The driver of Unit #2 made his own arrangements for the removal of the boat and boat trailer. During the investigation it was discovered that one of the passengers of Unit #2 had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Attempted Strangulation-Domestic Violence, issued by Marion County Circuit Court. The warrant was telephonically confirmed. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the Lincoln County Jail would not lodge the suspect. The passenger was cited and released on the warrant at the scene.
