***E-CRASH*** On 11/10/21 at approximately 12:14 PM, a two-vehicle crash occurred on SR-18 at N Slick Rock Creek Road. Vehicle #1 (green Freightliner) was turning left/west onto SR-18. Eastbound Vehicle #2 (red Kenworth) moved to the left but could not avoid colliding with the driver side of #1. #1 came to an uncontrolled rest against a utility pole facing northeast. Driver #1 life-flighted to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injury.

Narrative Summary
A red pickup was traveling south on US 101 when the driver attempted to retrieve his dog from the driver’s side floor. This caused him to fail to pay attention to the road which he left before impacting a tree. Driver was cited for DWS. Photos were taken. ODOT and Fire assisted at the scene. The driver arranged his own tow.
