***E-CRASH*** On 05/29/20 at approximately 4:05 PM, a three-vehicle rear end collision occurred on SR-18 around milepost 7. Driver of eastbound #1 (black F150) reached to the floor to retrieve his dinner, causing #1 to rear end #2 (red Transit), which in turn caused #2 to rear end #3 (white Rav4). No injuries reported, all occupants wore safety restraints, airbags deployed in #1 and #2. Driver #1 cited for Careless Driving-Accident. Driver #2 coordinated his own tow. #1 and #3 both driveable.

Narrative Summary
On 05/29/2020 at approximately 17:18 PM, a 71-year-old resident of Waldport, Oregon, suffered a medical emergency while stopped at the Seal Rock State Recreation Area. The male collapsed near the facility restrooms. Bystanders attempted CPR and called 911. Medical units from Pacific West Ambulance, Central Coast Fire and Rescue, and the Seal Rock Fire Department responded and tried to unsuccessfully to revive him. The Oregon State Police responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. No signs of criminal activity were identified and the male had previously existing medical conditions. OSP was also assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation. The deceased’s next-of-kin was present during the collapses and rescue attempts. Bateman’s mortuary services responded to the scene to assist.

On 5/30/20 at approximately 5:30 pm OSP Troopers located and recovered human remains in the surf line just west of the 3600 block of SW Pacific Coast Hwy south of Waldport. Yachats Fire and Central Lincoln Fire assisted with the recovery. Portland Police Bureau is currently assisting to confirm the identity of the remains.
