Crash – Non-injury
Location 229 HWY, Mile post 27 27 NB, LINCOLN OR USA
Narrative Summary
**e-Crash**On 7/15/2020 at approximately 10:03 AM OSP responded to a cold crash that occurred on SR-229 near milepost 27. Toledo Police Dept. and Lincoln County Sheriff’s office were on scene prior to my arrival. I arrived at approximately 10:07 AM. Based on the roadway evidence, Unit #1 (1998 Black Lincoln Navigator bearing the OR plate: 902JAU) drifted off the northbound lane into the embankment. Unit #1 then traveled several hundred feet before driving back onto the roadway, and crossing over to the shoulder of the southbound lane. The vehicle then collided with a tree several feet off the shoulder and came to an uncontrolled rest. There were no occupants near the vehicle, and no one had checked into the Newport or Lincoln Hospitals for injuries regarding a crash. I contacted the listed registered owners of the car, and they told me they had sold the car to Neill’s Wheels in Eugene. Neill’s Wheels was then contacted, and they told me they had sold the car to another dealership, the owner of that dealership is Gordon Wakeman. According to Wakemen, he sold the car on 06/22/20 to a Stewart L. Weston. Weston is currently unreachable. The current driver of the car is unknown, and the vehicle has been tagged for an abandoned tow.

Narrative Summary
On 7/15/20 at approximately 3:05 PM I was parked on NW Cedar St. facing south. This street is located in the city of Waldport, OR 97394. I observed a blue minivan drive through the stop sign on NW Spring St. that intersects with NW Cedar St. without stopping. This is a public roadway in Lincoln County. The minivan is a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van bearing the OR plate of 337HMB. I stopped the vehicle, and contacted the driver. The driver did not have an OR driver’s license but provided me with a name and date of birth. After a LEDS/DMV Check, I found that the driver was suspended misdemeanor level. NCC provided me with a description of the driver, and I verified it with a photo attached to his DMV file. The driver was issued a criminal citation for DWS, and a violation citation for failure to obey a TCD. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
