Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A silver Nissan Titan was being driven southbound on US-101 where the driver (and only occupant) drove off the road as it came into Seal Rock and went into the ditch crashing head-on into a tree. The driver denied transport and was given a courtesy transport to his residence by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The driver was issued a citation for failing to drive in his lane. The driver had advised he had fallen asleep. He had driven through a mailbox along the highway. Rowley’s had been dispatched to remove the vehicle.

E-Crash: A Honda Odyssey was being driven southbound approaching the curves to Ona Beach on US-101 near milepost 148.7. As the driver negotiated a smaller curve the driver had driven off to the right-hand shoulder and overturned the Honda where it came to a final rest on its side. The driver was alone, uninjured, and was given a courtesy transport to Waldport. The Honda was towed by Rowley’s Towing. The driver had one more newspaper to deliver.

Narrative Summary
On 7/4/21 at approximately 2:04 am I was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover crash, involving a red Ford Explorer Sport (ZQL971), which occurred at the intersection of US 20 (mile post 6) and Business Hwy 20 at the Toledo west junction. The vehicle had been eastbound and driving on a bare rim when it lost control, rolled down an embankment and came to an uncontrolled rest on its top in the McHenry Trucking parking lot. The driver attempted to leave the scene but was detained by a Toledo Police officer. Numerous alcohol containers and marijuana paraphernalia were located at the crash scene. The driver was transported to Pacific Communities Hospital for complaint of pain related to the crash. During a crash investigation conducted at the hospital the driver exhibited numerous signs of impairment. He consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s and was subsequently taken into custody for DUII. A hospital blood draw was performed which showed the driver had a .182% BAC. A warrant for blood and urine was granted and executed. The driver was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving. Toledo Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

E-Crash: A blue Ford Mustang was being driven westbound on SR-18 and as the driver negotiated curves near milepost 11.6 the Ford was driven off the westbound side of the road. The Ford overturned on its top and came to a complete rest in a small ditch. A passerby reported the crash when they came up to it but any and all occupants were gone on arrival. The driver has not contacted law enforcement. No state property was damaged. The Ford was towed by Car Care Towing to their lot.

During a vehicle search cannabis, heroin and various paraphernalia was recovered. The driver was transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of 0.00% BAC. The driver consented to provide a urine sample to be tested for presence of controlled substances. The driver was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving.

On 7/5/21 at approximately 3:15 pm I located a driving complaint vehicle, a black Cadillac Escalade (EVITA1), as it was driving westbound on US 20 near mile post 2. Prior to conducting a traffic stop I observed the vehicle swerving out of its lane. Upon contact the driver exhibited signs of impairment and admitted to recently drinking alcohol. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. He was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of .10% BAC. The driver was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving.

e-crash only: A single vehicle rollover crash occurred when the northbound operator of Unit #1, a red 1997 Ford Ranger pickup lost control while negotiating a curve on wet pavement and crashed into the ditch. The vehicle came to a rest partially blocking the northbound lane. Coast Towing towed the vehicle from the scene. The operator was issued citations for driving while suspended violation, driving uninsured and failure of a previous violator to file proof of financial responsibility. OSP was assisted on scene by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies, Fire, Ambulance, and ODOT.
