eCrash – On 1/27/21 at approximately 5:49PM a southbound vehicle near milepost 149 of US Highway 101 slid on ice, rotated and rolled off the northbound shoulder. Vehicle came to rest at the bottom of the embankment on it’s wheels facing north. Driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Driver was sole occupant. Coast Towing removed the vehicle. Seal Rock Fire assisted at the scene.

Central Coast Fire, Seal Rock Fire and Pac West assisted at the scene. Waldport Tire will remove the vehicle later today.

I was contacted by a citizen and advised that hunters had shot an elk on E Three Rocks Road in Otis. I responded to the location and contacted the hunters, who were loading the cow elk in a vehicle on E Three Rocks Road. The hunter who killed the elk had a valid 2021 Panther Creek Elk Tag (214E), which allowed the harvest of one elk. The tag had been validated prior to my arrival and the hunter was using the appropriate weapon (shotgun) for the area where the elk was killed. No violations occurred and no enforcement action was taken regarding this incident. (Log Only)

On 2/1/21 at approximately 4:54 pm I was dispatched to a driving complaint of a silver Dodge Caravan (SL72308) southbound on US 101 near milepost 132, driving slowly and failing to drive within its lane. I located and stopped the vehicle near milepost 136. Upon contact the driver exhibited numerous signs of impairment and smelled strongly of alcohol. She was uncooperative with an investigation and refused to perform SFST’s or provide any physical cooperation. The driver was taken into custody for DUII and transported to Lincoln County Jail where she refused to provide a breath sample. A warrant was applied for and obtained to seize blood and urine samples. The driver was cited and released on charges of DUII and Reckless Driving. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Coast Towing
