Narrative Summary
On 2/9/21 at approximately 4:02 PM I was notified by Newport Police Department of suspect vehicle involved in a hit and run in Newport. A silver Chevy Tahoe (120LVH) left the scene of a minor crash and the registered owner had an address in Eddyville. I responded to the residence and located the female driver and vehicle at approximately 4:30 pm. The female smelled strongly of alcohol and exhibited signs of impairment. She stated she drank one shot of vodka since arriving at home but could not produce a bottle as proof. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. She was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where she consented to a breath test rendering a result of .10% BAC. The driver was cited and released by Oregon State Police for DUII – Alcohol. She was cited additionally by Newport Police Department for Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver and Reckless Driving.

Narrative Summary
(ecrash) On 2/9/21 at approximately 11:02 pm I was dispatched to a single vehicle roll over crash which occurred on US 101 near mile post 132. Unit #1, a yellow Dodge car (317DHS), was southbound when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle swerved across the opposing lanes and crashed head on into a concrete barricade on the northbound shoulder. The vehicle rolled over multiple times until it came to an uncontrolled rest on its top blocking both northbound lanes. The driver was transported to Pacific Communities Hospital and treated for injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Coast Towing.
