E-Crash: The driver had reported a late crash which occurred several days prior on Monday, November 29, 2021. The driver described herself as driving eastbound on SR-34 and near milepost 15.6 while negotiating a curve in the road deer began crossing and she ended up crashing into and striking the guardrail along the eastbound shoulder multiple times as her vehicle spun. She was alone and uninjured. She made her own tow arrangements.

On 12/6/21 I observed a vehicle with a violation traveling SB on 101. I initiated a traffic stop and upon contact with the driver observed signs and symptoms of impairment. The driver refused SFST and was arrested for duii. The vehicle was towed 780 by Rowley’s Towing. Driver was taken to Lincoln County Jail Intoxilyzer room where they provided a breath sample of BAC .27. The Driver was subsequently cited and released for duii.

Narrative Summary
On 12/7/21 around 1751, the driver of a 2021 Toyota Rav 4 was traveling SB on SR-229 when for unknown reasons they drove into a ravine becoming stuck in a shallow creek at MP 26.5. After an investigation the driver was arrested for duii. The driver was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where they refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was attained and evidence obtained from the search warrant revealed the driver had a BAC of .13%. The driver was cited and released at 2352. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Coast Towing.

eCrash – On 12/9/21 at approximately 430PM a southbound unit 1 (Toyota SUV) pulling a cargo trailer collided with the rear end of a stopping unit 2 (Dodge pickup) in Depoe Bay, Oregon near milepost 128 of US Highway 101. The Dodge suffered minor bumper damage and the Toyota suffered moderate front end damage. No injuries were reported. The driver of unit 1 was issued a citation for driving suspended, uninsured and following too closely. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office provided majority assistance. Vehicles were not towed.

A search of the area was conducted and driver was not located. Driver was driving suspended violation and had an outstanding warrant in Lincoln County Oregon. Vehicle was found to have switched license plates. Plates were seized. Vehicle was impounded and towed by Rowley’s Towing. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted in the search.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: The crash was reported to the Oregon State Police the morning of 12/12/2021. When OSP arrived no one was with the vehicle. Later the driver showed up and advised he reported the crash the day prior and briefly spoke to law enforcement the night before and was working on getting it removed. The driver arranged his own tow to remove his vehicle. No state damage, no injuries. The driver was advised he was southbound on US-101 and near MP 130.5 he began having issues with his vehicle and started moving towards the shoulder and ended up going off the road completely hitting trees.

A single vehicle crash was reported by a passerby at US-20, Milepost 18. A charcoal grey Ford ¾ ton 4 X 4 long bed truck with a black bull guard had struck the guardrail once along the eastbound shoulder and three times along the westbound shoulder. It appeared the Ford was traveling eastbound when it had lost control. There was ice/snow in the area. When law enforcement arrived the driver fled in his truck and has not reported the crash.
