Crash – Hit and Run

Narrative Summary
Log only: I was dispatched to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on highway 18 near milepost 2. As I was enroute, I learned that the pedestrian was being transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. I arrived at the hospital and spoke with the medics that were at the scene, and they informed me that the victim had been walking along the highway heading eastbound and was struck from behind by a passing vehicle. The victim suffered a head injury and a broken arm, and there was a partial mirror on the ground nearby. The medics advised me that Lincoln City police had the mirror in their custody. The vehicle was described as a black Ford F150 with damage to the passenger side mirror. Before I could speak with the victim, she was intubated so that she could be treated by medical staff. An investigation into a hit and run is ongoing at this time.

Narrative Summary
Log Only: A white Chevrolet Tahoe was observed entering Highway 101 from a parking lot and cutting off another vehicle. After pulling over the Tahoe, it was discovered that the driver was driving while suspended (misdemeanor), driving uninsured, and had failed to install an ignition interlock device. The driver was cited and the vehicle was impounded and towed by Rowley’s Towing.
