NEWPORT – Representatives of 14 colleges will be at Oregon Coast Community College’s main campus in Newport from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 for its annual “Transfer Days” event.
The event is held to help connect students with representatives from four-year public and private colleges and universities.
“What can be daunting for transfer students is uncertainty: ‘Am I taking the right classes for my transfer degree? What else should I be doing to prepare?’” said Dave Price, OCCC’s vice president for engagement. “This event allows students, and parents if they’d like to join, to meet with university advisers and representatives in person, to get those questions answered clearly.”
Schools confirmed to attend include Eastern Oregon University, Grand Canyon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, Pacific University, Portland State University, Roseman University of Health Sciences, The Evergreen State College, University of Idaho, University of Oregon, University of Portland, Warner Pacific University, Western Oregon University, and Prescott College
The event is designed to help students navigate the transition from OCCC to a bachelor’s degree program. Representatives will provide insights on admissions, transfer processes, and financial aid.
