LINCOLN CITY — The North Lincoln County Historical Museum has received a donation of $700,000 from the Jones Living Trust to support its educational programs, preservation initiatives, and to help expand exhibits.
In making the announcement, museum executive director Christopher Melton said Sheridan and Crichton Jones were among the first supporters of establishing a museum in Lincoln City in 1987.
“Even before they moved to Roads End, they visited the area regularly and participated in early planning meetings during the mid-1980s,” Melton said in a news release. “They became members of the museum and soon began volunteering and joined the board of directors. Their dedication to preserving local history and their countless hours spent volunteering have left an indelible mark on the institution.”
Melton said the gift will allow the museum to “create more educational opportunities, safeguard historical artifacts, and continue to serve as a hub for learning and cultural exchange.”
