Whether you are looking to do some spring cleaning or want a whole new wardrobe, the Newport Recreation Center’s Earth Day clothing swap may have something for you.

People are encouraged to clean out their closets, donate old clothing and exchange them for gently used pieces in celebration of Earth Day during the city’s event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18.

Shopping will be limited to ticket holders from 10 a.m to noon then doors will open for everyone to shop for the remaining donations for $1 per item.

Attendees can bring up to 15 items to exchange tickets to shop for clothing during the event. Clothing can be donated at the Newport Recreation Center from noon to 7 p.m Friday, April 17, and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 18.

Donations must be clean and wearable with no major stains or holes. No undergarments or jewelry are allowed. The event will be held in the multi-purpose room with changing rooms available.
