Halloween activities begin this weekend for youngsters of all ages with musical performances, community gatherings and, of course, trick or treating in a variety of locations around Lincoln County.

Saturday, Oct. 25
Halloween Concert, Yachats Commons
The 40 members of the Pacific Coast Wind Ensemble will perform popular music from movies such as “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Phantom of the Opera” and spooky tunes such as “Haunted Carousel,” “Dark Ride” and many more. 4 pm, 441 Hwy. 101 N.
Community Fall Festival, Waldport Community Center
Celebrate the season at a new event of fall fun for all ages in the heart of town, with delicious food and drink vendors, unique gift vendors and a parking lot full of decorated trunk-or-treat cars handing out candy. 4 to 7 pm, 265 NW Hemlock Street.
Spooky Sea Stroll, Hatfield Visitor Center, Newport
Enter the deep ocean with a spooky hallway walk featuring huge glowing creatures, hydrothermal vents and other deep-sea mysteries. Come in costume to earn a prize. $5. 4 to 7 pm, 2030 Marine Science Drive. FMI, call 541-867-0100.
Friday, Oct. 31
Spooktacular Halloween Celebration, Newport Public Library
Enjoy a safe and fun trick-or-treating experience for all ages. Come in costume and explore the library while collecting treats. 10 am to 6 pm, 35 NW Nye Street.
Halloween Food Drive, Depoe Bay/Lincoln City
The Witches of Depoe Bay will be collecting cash, checks and nonperishable food items at the 16th annual food drive. 2 to 5 pm at Chester’s Thriftway parking lot, in front of the Whale Fountain on Highway 101, in front of Re/Max Realty on Highway 101 and at the Depoe Bay Community Hall at 220 SE Bay Street.
Trick or Treat, Lincoln City Hall
A family-friendly candy hunt through the library and city hall. 3-5 pm, 801 SW Hwy. 101.
Trick or Treat, Beach Club & Event Center, Lincoln City
An afternoon packed with games and treats for kids. 4:30-6 pm, 2020 NE 22nd Street.
Funhouse, Taylor & Taylor Realty Co., Lincoln City
A Halloween funhouse filled with games, prizes and treats. Everyone is welcome, and while games are geared toward a younger audience, all are invited to enjoy the festivities. 5:30-7:30 pm, 3891 NW Hwy. 101.
Trick or Treat, Main Street, Toledo
All children and parents are invited to enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun as Toledo businesses along Main Street open their doors to goblins and ghouls for trick-or-treating. Come in costume or just as yourself. 3:30-6 pm.
Trick or Treat Ghost Walk, Newport City Hall and Recreation Center
From the Emerald City to ghostly haunts, this event will bring together multiple City of Newport facilities to give trick or treaters of all ages a one-of-a-kind experience on Halloween. 4-6 pm. 169 SW Hwy. 101.
