The city of Lincoln City has selected 14 nonprofits to receive $139,000 in grants and will present the checks at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 in council chambers.
The city receives funding requests from local non-profits each year as part of its budget process. Once the city council has approved the budget, councilors review applications and select which nonprofits will receive grants. The city received $406,200 in requests.
Receiving grants are Beach Buddies Buddies, $6,500; Central Coast Humane Society, $8,000; Family Promise of Lincoln County, $20,000; Fishing Poles For Kids, $5,000; North Lincoln County CERT, $2,500; Conexión Fénix, $12,000; My Sisters Place, $20,000; the North Lincoln County Historical Museum, $10,000; North End Senior Solutions, $10,000; Oceana Family Literacy, $15,000; Ground Zero Outreach, $5,000; Theatre West, $10,000; Brighter Horizons,$5,000, and the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation, $10,000.
