Lincoln City Police announced Wednesday that they had arrested Travis Wandersheid, 26, of Lincoln City, on July 25 on six counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the first degree. The investigation began in early May when the Oregon Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force notified LCPD’s Criminal Investigation Unit of possible child sex abuse images being uploaded to an electronic service provider. A three-month investigation led detectives to Wandersheid’s residence, where they executed a search warrant on July 18 and obtained additional evidence.
He is in the Lincoln County Jail with bail of $1.5 million.
