LINCOLN CITY — Lincoln City’s firework show is returning for the Fourth of July after getting mixed feedback about last year’s drone show. This year, fireworks will be launched over Devil’s Lake – a departure from the usual Siletz Bay location.
Fireworks are after last year’s drone show got mixed feedback. The show was the city’s first and touted being more environmentally friendly, quieter and less disruptive to pets and to people sensitive to fireworks.
In December, the city council had a special meeting to talk about planning for 2026. There, they decided not to contract again with the drone vendor, which would have cost $70,000 for 200 drones and $105,000 for 300 drones. In January, the council held a town hall meeting to hear what the public would like to see July 4.
The fireworks launch site will be near Regatta Park, which has very limited parking and which will be closed to vehicles at 6 pm. A shuttle service will be provided between Regatta Park and the Lincoln City Community Center from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Along with the fireworks show, scattered throughout the town, there will be a pet parade, a pie eating contest, live music, and food vendors.

I like the whole plan. Good job and thank you for listening to the residents.
Does anyone know why Devils Lake was chosen over Siletz Bay? The bay seems to be more accessible and have more access while the park at the lake not only has limited room but also is very close to housing.
This from Nextdoor member Lincoln City Connect (unable to copy/paste so will do my best): It was due to permits issued and poor planning on the city level. They planned to do another drone show and didn’t have any back up for fireworks. Push back from the community who asked for the town hall, which then showed overwhelmingly that the majority wanted fireworks, so they had to figure out a plan and that was to “share”’with the lake. Hopefully, next year better preparation will be in place.”
