YACHATS — You don’t have to work hard to find fun this Labor Day weekend. From handmade baked goods to hand-painted art, a pancake breakfast to free, live music and a big book sale, there’s a roster of events to usher out the summer season.

Saturday and Sunday

Yachats Ladies Club Labor Day Craft Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 286 W. Third St.

There will be tables of quality handcrafted items and baked goods at the Ladies Club’s two-day bazaar. Arrays of knitted scarves, hats, throws and home décor will share the club headquarters with homemade cookies, brownies and mini-pies.

In addition, raffle tickets will be on sale for $1, benefiting the club’s scholarship fund for students in nursing and education at Oregon Coast Community College, as well as local service organizations. The prize is a handcrafted quilt, with a drawing at the club’s December holiday bazaar.

Women interested in joining the club may inquire at the bazaar.

Saturday through Monday

Yachats Arts Guild show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Yachats Commons multipurpose room

“See You in September” is the theme of works from a host of area artists, selling original creations in oil, acrylic and watercolor, along with jewelry, photography, silk art and mixed media collages.

Admission is free for the event, which features artists from Yachats and Waldport.

Quinton Smith Yachats Lions Club members will make pancakes, eggs, sausage and ham during their all-you-can eat breakfast on Sunday.

Sunday

Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, 7:30-11 a.m., Lions Hall, 344 W. Fourth St.

This fundraising club tradition dishes out hearty breakfast fare for just a suggestion donation of $10 (more if you like). Dig into all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, sausage and ham. Club volunteers will be serving up the menu, aided by students from nearby Angell Job Corps.

All the proceeds benefit the Lions Club’s support of scholarships, local civic groups and schools, and eyesight and hearing programs.

Under the motto “We serve,” the Yachats Lions are celebrating 73 years of service to Yachats and South Lincoln County.

Friends of Yachats Library Book Sale, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Yachats Commons basement

Browse paperback and hard-bound book bargains at this annual fundraiser for the Yachats Library. Timed to coincide with the Sunday Farmers Market, the sale will take place in the basement of the Commons and bargain hunters should enter through the rear door.

A wide array of book genres will be available, including some vintage/specialty titles, and those signed by the author. Bonus: the children’s book selections, at just $1 apiece, have been doubled.

Yachats Farmers Market, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., West Fourth Street

Farmers are joined by potters, jewelry-makers and more hand-crafters for this weekly, open-air market. Choose from organic vegetables, herbs, jams, plants, pottery, jewelry and clothing.

Eric Bigler The Pacific Coast Wind Ensemble will cap off the Labor Day festivities in Yachats with a concert at 1 p.m. Monday in the Yachats Commons Pavilion.

Monday

Pacific Coast Wind Ensemble Concert, 1 p.m., Yachats Commons Pavilion

Bring a chair, pillow or blanket to get comfortable for the second annual, free Labor Day performance by this community concert band. Led by conductors Evelyn Archer, Ernie Hills and Edd Restivo, the ensemble boasts about 30 members from the coast and Willamette Valley.

The program will include Sousa marches, Americana medleys, Oregon State and University of Oregon fight songs, and a special nod to the upcoming Yachats Oktoberfest.
