It’s going to be free to fish, crab or clam anywhere in Oregon this weekend and free to park in state day-use areas on Saturday.
The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife’s “free fishing weekend” is Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, meaning you don’t need a license to fish, crab or clam anywhere in the state. However, the agency said all other fishing regulations apply, including closures, bag limits and size restrictions.
Parking in Oregon State Parks’ day use areas – but not camping as in the past — is free on Saturday, June 6.
A practice since 1998 to thank Oregonians for their support of the state park system, the agency has dropped free camping from the program on Saturday because of budget issues.
