The Lincoln County clerk has mailed a record-breaking 40,256 ballots to registered voters in the county, asking them to decide everything from party nominations for governor to property tax levies for local fire districts.
But the biggest issue in Lincoln County is control over the three-member commission with a ballot packed with 12 candidates – including an elected first-term incumbent and one appointed a year ago.
Voters can either mail their ballot – postage is pre-paid – by 5 p.m. May 19 or drop them in the special ballot collection box at seven city halls or the Lincoln County courthouse in Newport by 8 p.m. May 19.
To keep the political stories prominently displayed on the Lincoln Chronicle’s home page, we will keep this introduction, updated news stories and links to our May 19 election stories and those from our Oregon news partners prominently displayed with a headline from the original story and links to follow.
