YACHATS — Sipping and shopping, wining and dining in Yachats take on added flair Saturday when the fourth annual “Sip & Stroll” livens up the spring weekend.
From noon to 5 p.m. local shops and restaurants will host wineries, a brewery, a cider house and a distillery for customers to sample and buy beverages, plus offer food and merchandise.
For $30, attendees receive five beverage sampling tickets, a map of the 13 participating vendors and a commemorative wine glass.
New this year — the free Yachats trolley will start at noon and run the Sip & Stroll route until 5:30 p.m., making a continuous loop among stops — including shops on the north end of town.
This year’s event also includes a dedicated non-alcoholic stop by High Street Tonics, at the Yachats Commons, and water available at the Yachats Chamber of Commerce’s visitor center in the C&K plaza.
To take part, sippers and strollers should check in at the Commons to buy tickets and get a map and event glass. A courier service will be available starting at 1 pm. to hold wine or any other purchases, so that the strolling can continue without heavy boxes or bags.
“Sip & Stroll is one of those days that just feels like Yachats — easy, social and full of great flavor,” said Nichole Lippincott, executive director of the sponsoring Yachats Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a chance to walk through town, pop into local businesses, try something new and spend time with friends.”
She also urged attendees to “keep an eye out for a surprise mushroom treasure hunt” happening Saturday.
