Ernest Bloch annual free musical performance at Lincoln County Historical Society
LCHS Pacific Maritime Heritage Center 333 SE Bay Blvd, Newport, OR, United StatesThe Ernest Bloch Legacy Committee, under the auspices of the Lincoln County Historical Society, will present their annual (free) performance symposium at the Doerfler Family Theater this Saturday July 12, 2025 at 2pm. The program will feature talks by Lucienne Allen, the great-granddaughter of Ernest Bloch (1880-1959), the famous composer who lived at Agate Beach for the last 18 years of his life. Allen’s presentations will feature her namesake grandmother, Lucienne Bloch’s, career as a muralist, and her friendship with Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. Three members of the Newport Symphony, which was the original ensemble for the now defunct Ernest Bloch Music Festival, will perform selections from Bloch’s chamber music
