COCF&R wildland fire prevention open house

WALDPORT – As wildfires consume hundreds of thousands of acres of land in eastern Oregon, staff and volunteers at Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue are offering landowners a chance Saturday to learn how to protect their property. The district is holding an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at its main station in downtown Waldport where homeowners can learn about wildland fire preparation and prevention. There will be other firefighting organizations or emergency service agencies there to talk about defensible spaces, “go” bags, evacuation terminology and preparing for power outages.
