LINCOLN COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS ASSOCATION TO HOLD 24th ANNUAL PLANT SALE, SATURDAY, MAY 17TH AT NEWPORT NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY
The Lincoln County Master GardenerTM Association will hold its popular
annual plant sale Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Newport.
There will be more than 25 varieties of tomatoes, vegetables starts, herbs, native plants, perennials, and
houseplants. All the plants are grown by Master Gardeners from seeds, cuttings or bare root starts, so
they are well-suited for the unique coastal climate and environment.
Shoppers can stop by the help desk for answers to gardening questions or for information on the Master
Gardener program. A representative from Bee Atlas will be available to help people learn more about the
740 different bees that live in Oregon.
New this year, we will be handing out kitchen counter compost bins, provided by Coastal Character &
Lincoln County Solid Waste District. We have a very limited supply and on a first-come; first-serve basis.
Once again, there will be the Garden Garage Sale section with a variety of yard art, garden tools, pots,
and other garden-related items at “everything must go” prices.
Back by popular demand, Stone Sharpening will be available to sharpen garden tools, clippers, loppers
or any tool that needs a new edge. Pricing starts at $5 and up.
There will be disability parking available on the east side of the building, closest to the entrance. Bring
your wagons to load up with plants to take home, and sturdy boxes are provided for your convenience.
Proceeds from the sale support educational activities and scholarship program.
Come early for the best selection of plants! Don’t go home empty-handed!
