Jackie Dean, 53, of Depoe Bay, was killed about 3:50 p.m. Sunday, June 2 when his car collided with an oncoming vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Beverly Beach State Park north of Newport.
Oregon State Police said Monday that Dean was northbound in his Chrysler Sebring when it hit the highway guardrail, crossed into the opposite lane and struck a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Pedro Segura, 42, of Salem. Dean died at the scene.
Segura and two adults and two youngsters in his car were taken to hospitals in Newport and Lincoln City with injuries, state police said.
