Lincoln County is looking to fill two vacant spots on its planning commission.
The nine-member group helps play a role in several processes including public hearings, decisions on land-use applications and permits, and administration of land-use planning in the unincorporated areas of the county.
The commission is seeking one member from north Lincoln County – from unincorporated and cities north of Cape Foulweather, including Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. Another member is needed from central Lincoln County, which includes all unincorporated areas between the crest of Cape Foulweather and Beaver Creek, and the cities of Newport, Siletz and Toledo.
There are certain requirements of the volunteer positions. Because two sitting members of the commission work in the real estate industry, the new members cannot be employed in real estate.
The commission typically meets every few months, depending on land use applications submitted to the Lincoln County Department of Planning and Development.
People with questions can contact planning director Onno Husing at 541-265-4192. Applications are available on the county’s website at tinyurl.com/LCPCApply
