Local pianist Milo Graamans will perform at the Newport Performing Arts Center next Thursday to raise money for a children’s summer camp program focused on art.
Admission to the concert, “Joy Through Music,” is by donation, with all proceeds benefiting scholarships for Oregon Coast Council for the Arts Summer Youth Camps. The nonprofit aims to make art more accessible to children.
The concert will feature a varied program of original compositions, classical selections and additional favorites, covering a wide range of musical tastes.
A familiar face in the local arts community, Graamans is a pianist, composer, singer-songwriter and sought-after accompanist. He serves as choir director at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, performs with the Lincoln Pops Big Band and regularly appears with other ensembles throughout Lincoln County.
Funds raised through the concert will support immersive summer camps in performing and visual arts, giving young people opportunities to build confidence, creativity and connection through hands-on artistic experiences.
Thursday’s concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Center, located at 777 W. Olive St. No advance ticket purchase is required — simply bring a donation, if you choose to, and your love of live music. For more information, go to coastarts.org/milo or call 541-265-2787.
