AARP’s free tax help program expands to more cities in February

Tax time is looming and the AARP Tax-Aide program stands ready to help Lincoln County residents file their taxes for free.

The program has grown to three tax preparation sites this year – at the Waldport Community Center, the 60+ Activity Center in Newport, and the Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City.

The group will be posting information on the  AARP Tax-Aide Lincoln County Oregon Facebook page.

Packets of the necessary forms will be available toward the end of January for taxpayers to pick up. When they are available a post will be made on the group’s Facebook page letting people know where to pick them up. Anyone who can’t pick up a packet is asked to complete this intake form: https://ta-nttc.tiny.us/Tax-Aide-Intake-Booklet

But, people should bring general information for all sites, including their 2024 tax return, if available and documents from this AARP list.

• Waldport Community Center: Help will be available from 12:30-4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, Feb. 4 through April 11. Walk-in help without an appointment is available Wednesdays and Saturdays, but Thursday by appointment only. • Newport 60+ Activity Center, 20 S.E. Second St.: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Thursday, Feb. 2 through April 13 by appointment only. To schedule an appointment and for questions call: 541-264-9617.
