Narrative Summary
On 2/28/2020 at 12:09 PM OSP responded to a driving complaint regarding a vehicle traveling south on Highway 101. The caller described the vehicle traveling into oncoming lanes, nearly hitting telephone poles, and driving off the road. OSP made contact with the driver at 12:55 PM in Lincoln City. The driver consented to perform SFST’s. No signs of impairment were observed. However the driver was cited and released for Reckless Driving.

On 2/28/2020 at 16:45 PM OSP received a report of a rock thrown at a windshield of a vehicle as it drove south from Newport to Seal Rock. The individual suspected of the vandalism was described as a male with facial hair, wearing dark clothing. Nothing new at this time has been reported. No suspect has been identified at this time.

Narrative Summary
A rear-end crash occurred near milepost 124.7 on Highway 101 northbound when one vehicle slowed significantly in the main lane of travel when having no right to do so. During my investigation the driver of the Ford Focus showed signs of impairment and continued to during voluntary field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she provided a valid breath sample of a 0.07% BAC over 2.5 hours after the crash. The driver was cited and released for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering to her father. Both vehicles were removed by Car Care Towing.

Narrative Summary
On the evening of February 29, 2020, the Oregon State Police observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit in the city limits of Newport. Upon contact with the driver, several indicators of impairment were observed. The driver consented to and performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was placed in custody for DUII. The driver was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she provided a breath sample revealing a blood alcohol content of 0.19%. The driver was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for DUII and her vehicle was legally parked and secured at the place of arrest.

Narrative Summary
I received a complaint of an unlawful camper and vehicle on the beach at Lost Creek State Park. When I arrived, the camper was driving on the beach towards the access. I contacted the driver who showed signs of impairment and continued to during voluntary field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for DUII and was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample indicating a 0.16% BAC. The driver was lodged in jail. The driver asked that arrangements be made with AA Rowley’s to remove his vehicle to secure it at their lot for safekeeping. I brought his dog to the Lincoln County Animal shelter for safekeeping.
