Cindy Meier of Waldport, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed peacefully on July 8, 2025.
Cindy was born on Nov. 15, 1949, in Pleasant Hill, Mo. to Betty Jane Vaughn and Leo E. Vaughn.
Cindy was a private practice nurse practitioner for 30 years and dedicated her time to helping others, especially patients who were homebound. Her priority was always to help those in need.
She went on in life to find her passion for writing and art. She practiced many artistic mediums and was in the process of writing a book. Cindy also loved spending her time tending her garden. Cindy was known for her compassion, adventurous spirit, strength, and creativity.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and two siblings, Kathy Vaughn and Nathan Vaughn.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Jennifer R. Casebeer and Jerrod S. Casebeer and grandchildren, Cora Rosalee Casebeer, Hayden Leo Casebeer and Jane Lois Casebeer; and six siblings, Donald W. Vaughn, Jimmy L. Vaughn, Eugenia J. Baron, Wanda G. Vaughn, Katie V. Vaughn and Michael D. Vaughn.
A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at her home, 3877 S.W. Dahlia Lane, Waldport.
Her family requests that any donation in Cindy’s name be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Cindy was a great primary care provider and a great person! For those that knew her, nothing else needs to be said. For those that didn’t, words don’t exist to offer an adequate explanation.
