The iconic Yachats River Valley Farm Tour returns Saturday, Aug. 9, giving everyone a chance to celebrate local farmers, buy their goods, and see what makes “up river” a special place.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday the 15th annual free, self-guided tour winds along Yachats River Road and its north and south forks. For a map of participating farms and their offerings, go to the tour’s website.
Vegetables and fruits, plants, pottery, honey, baked goods and more will be available for sale all day. Attendees are urged to bring water, since August temperatures are usually hotter in the Yachats River valley than on the coast.
“The Farm Tour is more than a market — it’s a way to connect,” said Ann Jensen of River Wind Farm, a founding participant. “Every gate you walk through leads to something beautiful: hardworking hands, fresh food, clean air, and a sense of community that’s rare these days.”
The tour includes:
- Forks Farm, 8 North Yachats River Road, produce and more;
- River Wind Farm, 8402 Yachats River Road, produce, live music and Rasa Clay Works pottery and Billow Cloud seawater soaps;
- Yaquina Nursery, 9724 Yachats River Road, succulents and cacti; and
- Seeds of Oregon, 1603 Yachats River Road, plant and vegetable starts, jams, and baked goods.
